Melita is a versatile individual with a wide array of experience in Education, Counselling, Assessments and Coaching. Currently, her main focus has been with executive assessments where she has assisted organisations to improve the calibre of their leadership pool by providing integrated assessment solutions. Locally, she has worked with numerous organisations in the public and private sector. Internationally, she has worked on projects in Ghana (Standard Bank), Ethiopia (African Union Commission). Malawi (CDH Investment Bank), Namibia (Bank Windhoek) and the United Kingdom (Peoplewise). Melita is particularly passionate about people development and is keen to combine her assessment experience with coaching that places an emphasis on the holistic health and wellbeing of leaders.
- Melita has been self-employed since 2005. She consults to several companies such as Joint Prosperity, The Competency Network, The Talent Hub, Litha Lethu, Top Talent Solutions and Lemasa where she does competency-based assessments of staff, including senior managers and executives. She has also been involved with skills audits and graduate recruitment programmes. Over the course of her assessment career, she has participated extensively in Assessment Centres. These have included roles in admin, sales and all levels of management.
- She has undertaken coaching of managers at the South African Bureau of Standards, BCX, CDH Malawi, Constantia Insurance and Reckitt Benckiser. Coaching involved preparing leaders to take on more senior positions in the future, dealing with their leadership challenges as well as assisting some with transitions in the workplace. Her approach included an emphasis on cognition and emotional intelligence.
- Melita was involved in a coaching and group facilitation project for CDH, an Investment Bank in Malawi. CDH had a strong focus on embedding the culture and values of the organisation amongst its executive and senior management staff.
- In 2025, Melita obtained a coaching qualification through the Health Coaches Academy in the United Kingdom. The focus of the course was on life-style medicine such as healthy diet, exercise, sleep and building connections. The course had a strong practical component with a minimum of 50 coaching hours required.
- Prior to becoming self-employed, she worked at Deloitte where she was responsible for competency-based assessment of senior managers. She has been the project manager of several large assessment projects.
- Before joining Deloitte, Melita was employed at Lee Morrall Consulting where she gained considerable experience in competency-based recruitment, selection and assessment.
- She had a private practice for several years where she counselled adults, couples and did play therapy with small children.
- Melita started her career as an English teacher.
